Business holds ice bucket challenge
Rumors Sports bar in Grand Forks is inviting the public to take the ice bucket challenge today from 5 to 8 p.m. and be part of a donation toward research in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also called Lou Gehrig’s disease.
The ice bucket challenge is recent fad in which people dump ice water over their heads and pledge money toward ALS research. Participants usually share their dousing on the Internet and then name someone else to take the challenge.
Bill Tyrrell, an owner of the bar at 1720 S. Washington St., said the business will make one donation in the name of everyone who participates. They will also give a free drink to everyone who takes the challenge. Ace Hardware will provide buckets, and towels will be provided by AmeriPride, the Altru Family YMCA and Choice Health and Fitness.
