Following the dunk, which gave Senior High a 6-2 lead, the Green Wave went on a 19-3 run in a span of nine minutes. That all Senior High needed in its 69-34 victory over Bagley in the Senior High gym.

In what was a balanced effort on both sides of the ball Senior High, which had 12 different players in the scoring column.

“Our guards did a good job of getting up and pressuring them,” said Senior High coach Travis Lindgren. “I think that hurt them in terms of being able to get into a flow.

“Brock Scheving, Tanner Seim, Ben Bjornson, and Cole Hammargren were all able to put a lot of pressure on them,” Lindgren added. “That helped to begin the game and once we were on the other side of the court we did a good job of contesting shots.”

The constant pressure of the Green Wave guards got to the Flyers — Bagley didn’t reach double digits until there was just 3:52 remaining in the first half.

At the half, Warmack led all scorers with 10 points and Ty Misialek had nine to give Senior High a 38-18 advantage.

“We’ve come to expect that from Jim,” said Lindgren. “We get a little bit spoiled with how well he is able to do inside. We certainly don’t want to see that come to an end any time soon.”

Bagley would battle back at the start of the second half, going on a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to 40-25 with 15 minutes to play, but that would be the closest the Flyers would get as the Green Wave went on a 19-4 run over the next 12 minutes.

Warmack finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, Misialek added 12 points and seven assists and Frydenlund pitched in seven points and seven assists to go along with four steals.

With the win, Senior High advances to play Crookston in the quarterfinal round Saturday night at Bemidji State.

“Both teams know each other pretty well,” Lindgren said. “We split with them during the year … Jim didn’t get to play the second time around. They’re pretty balanced and can score both on the inside and outside. We just have to be disciplined and everyone needs to be responsible.”
