PARK RAPIDS, Minn. — The East Grand Forks Senior High baseball team captured the Park Rapids tournament Saturday after downing Menahga 11-1 in the title game.
Senior High beat Wheaton 18-3 on Friday and Park Rapids 4-3 in the semifinals Saturday to reach the title game.
Winning pitchers for Senior High were Micah Friez, Taylor Brierley and Wyatt Swanson.
“It was nice just getting outside,” said Green Wave coach Garret Hjelle. “Everyone contributed all weekend. I think we did a good job as a team executing our game plan. The boys had great approaches at the plate and were hitting the ball hard. It was fun to see this early in the season.”
The Green Wave improved to 3-0.
