APP SNAP: UPS app can help you keep track of your shipments

FARGO – In the month or so between my wedding and my move, I had a lot of activity with UPS.

There was a wedding gift for me and an anniversary gift for a friend from Bed Bath & Beyond, an area rug from Target and cat supplies from Petco.

Though I live just a few minutes away from all three retailers, certain products and colors are only available online.

Problem is, I’m rarely home when the big brown truck pulls up to my apartment building. The UPS app helps me keep track of my shipments and change their delivery method if I need to.

I’d already signed up for UPS’ free My Choice service, which allows me to set my preferences, receive delivery alerts and track my packages. The app just makes those functions more easily accessible on my iPhone.

You can use it to calculate quotes and ship packages, too.

The only problem I had, which may be because I recently changed my address, was that some of my packages weren’t linked to my account, so I wasn’t able to change their delivery method using the app and had to call customer service to get them sorted out.

Bottom line: If you’re a frequent online shopper, the UPS app is an easy way to keep track of your shipments.
