Allen D. Clement
Allen D. Clement, 83, of Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Allen Clement was born May 1, 1931, at Terrebonne, MN, the son of Theodore and Mae (St. Marie) Clement. He attended St. Josephs Catholic School and graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lakes Falls, MN, in 1949. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy, attending the Great Lakes Training Center, Great Lakes, IL, where he was a member of the Great Lakes Concert Choir. He served in the Navy for 6 years. He married Catherine D. Eccles on June 30, 1958, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Grand Forks. He first worked for Alden Braseth Plumbing and Heating and then became a partner in the business, where he worked for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. For over 30 years, he enjoyed weekends at his lake home in Warroad, MN. He served on the Board of Directors of Community National Bank in Grand Forks and was a lifetime member of the Elks.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine; children, Catherine Jane Russell, Michael Clement, and Thomas (Jeanie) Clement all of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Liz (Clint) Frey, Michael Clement Jr., and Sarah Doherty, all of Grand Forks, ND, Heather (Preston) Every, LaCrosse, WI, and Sean Clement and Andrew Clement both of Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Jim (Shirley) Clement, Pequot Lakes, MN, and Dan (Judy) Clement, Cross Lake, MN, and brother-in-law, Bayford Leighton, Maplewood, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clariet Jacobson, Darlene Leighton, Shirley Sande and brothers-in-law, Milton Jacobson and Milton Sande.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in St. Michaels Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Wednesday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
Military Honors: Accorded by members of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817, and the North Dakota National Guard.
