After much preperation here comes Springfest
Grand Forks North Dakota 375 2nd Ave. N. 58203

Workers Friday were busy preparing Grand Forks’ University Park for Springfest.

The annual celebration the Saturday before finals week at UND is today. The sun isn’t expected to be out much, according to the National Weather Service, but the police said they’ll be out in force.

The event, which now takes the form of a music festival with a fenced-in beer garden, goes from noon to 6 p.m.

Rhombus Guys, the organizers, said the bands State & Rush, Drawing a Blank and Whisky Fox will be there. The cost of entry is $5.

Students living near the park are also expected to hold their own parties.

Grand Forks police warned would-be partiers not to make loud noises that can be heard more than 50 feet away, which would violate the city’s laws against noisy parties. They warned against drinking on public property, including sidewalks; against disorderly conduct, including being unreasonably loud; against drinking underage; and against providing alcohol to those underage.
