360 take part in Grand Forks County early voting so far
Grand Forks North Dakota 375 2nd Ave. N. 58203

About 360 Grand Forks County residents have voted in the first three days of early elections, according to Auditor Debbie Nelson.

In 2012, during the presidential election in November, there were 674 voters in the first three days, she said.

The county started offering early voting in 2008. It has cost the county as much as $20,000 for voting equipment, but this year only $10,000.

One advantage of early voting is the lack of long lines, but not too many seem to be taking it up this year.

“I guess it’s going to be slow,” Nelson said.

Early voting continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Friday at the Alerus Center, 1200 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. That’s the only polling station open during early election.

On Election Day, regular polling stations will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
